Terms of Service

These terms apply to every order placed on grocery2. Please read them before you order β€” placing an order means you accept them.

1. Who we are

Grocery2 Market UAB, a company registered in Lithuania at Savanoriu pr. 14, LT-03116 Vilnius, trading as Grocery2 and operating four stores: two in Vilnius, one in Kaunas and one in Klaipeda. Contact: hello@grocery2.example, +370 5 210 4000.

2. Ordering and when your order is accepted

Product listings are an invitation to order, not an offer. The contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email, not when you submit the basket or when payment is authorised. We may decline an order β€” for example where an address is outside our delivery area, where age-restricted goods cannot lawfully be sold, or where we suspect fraud β€” and if we do, nothing is charged.

3. Prices and VAT

Prices are in euros and include VAT at the applicable Lithuanian rate. The price that applies is the one shown when your order is confirmed, even if the shelf price changes afterwards. Delivery is free on orders over 49 EUR and otherwise 3.99 EUR; collection is always free. If a price is obviously wrong β€” a decimal point in the wrong place β€” we will contact you before picking rather than fulfil or cancel silently.

4. Substitutions and weighed items

Groceries are picked by a person from real stock, so two things follow. Where an item is unavailable we either substitute the closest equivalent or leave it out, according to the preference you set at checkout; every substitution is listed on the receipt and you may refuse any of them at the door at no cost. Where an item is sold by weight, we pick as close to your requested weight as the piece allows and charge the actual weight, normally within ten percent either way.

5. Availability

Stock shown on the site is indicative and can change between your order and the pick, particularly for bakery and deli goods. We do not guarantee availability of any specific line, brand or use-by date. If an item you ordered cannot be supplied and you declined substitutions, it is simply removed from the order and refunded.

6. Delivery and collection

Orders placed before 14:00 can be delivered the next day in a two-hour slot that you choose at checkout. Someone must be at the address during the slot to receive chilled goods, produce and meat. If nobody is there the driver waits five minutes, calls, and returns the order to the store; the second attempt is free, but perishable goods that have left temperature are refunded rather than re-delivered. Collection orders are held for 24 hours. Full operational detail is on the Delivery & Collection page and forms part of these terms.

7. Age-restricted goods

Alcohol, tobacco and other age-restricted goods are sold only in accordance with Lithuanian law, including the permitted hours of sale, and only to persons of legal age. The driver or store staff will ask for identification on handover. If identification is not shown, or the person receiving the order is not of legal age, those items are not handed over: they return to the store and are refunded. The rest of the order is unaffected.

8. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel or change an order free of charge until it enters picking, which is 14:00 on the day before delivery. After that, cancellation is handled as a refund. You have 14 days from delivery to tell us that something was damaged, spoiled, missing or wrong, and for fresh and chilled goods a photograph is sufficient β€” you do not need to return the item. The complete procedure, the exclusions and the refund timings are on the Returns & Refunds page. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

9. Our liability

We are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to meet these terms, including the cost of goods that arrive unfit to eat. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for spoilage that occurs because a delivered chilled tote was left unopened for a prolonged period after handover. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or under Lithuanian product-safety law.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, and the courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction. Please contact us first β€” most complaints are settled the same working day. If we cannot agree, you may refer the matter to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority or to the online dispute resolution platform. How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
