Floury potatoes fall apart when boiled hard, which is exactly what you want for mash and exactly what you do not want in a salad — for that, start them in cold salted water and pull them off the heat while the centre still has a little resistance. Keep them in the dark: light turns the skin green and bitter within days. Never store them next to onions.

Loose produce is picked into your order on the morning it leaves us, and meat and counter cheese are cut the same day. Everything travels chilled in insulated totes.

Do not wash produce before storing it — damp skin is what starts the rot. Wash it when you cook it.
Order before 14:00 for next-day delivery, or pick a two-hour evening slot. Collection from any of our stores is free and usually ready within two hours.
